In a busy Monday for the Las Vegas Raiders, the fates of two more free agents have been decided.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, former Raiders cornerback Nate Hobbs is joining the Green Bay Packers on a four-year, $48 million deal with $16 million guaranteed.

A fifth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Raiders, Hobbs has been a consistent slot cornerback for Las Vegas over the past few years. However, injuries took their toll last season, limiting Hobbs to 11 games. His departure opens up another hole in the secondary, just as Tre’Von Moehrig was replaced by Jeremy Chinn at safety.
Shortly after the Hobbs announcement, however, Ian Rapoport gave Raiders fans some good news with the return of edge rusher Malcolm Koonce.

Koonce was projected to be Maxx Crosby‘s running mate for 2024, but an injury ended his season before it even began. Koonce was coming off a breakout 2023, however, notching eight sacks opposite Crosby. Now healthy and with both him and Crosby under contract, the Raiders are hoping Koonce’s lost season does not stunt his development.
While Hobbs will be missed, getting Koonce back on a reasonable deal is a big win for the Raiders.
