After losing safety Tre’Von Moehrig in free agency, the Las Vegas Raiders quickly scooped up his replacement.

According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the Raiders have signed safety Jeremy Chinn from the Washington Commanders on a two-year, $16 million dollar contract. Garafolo also reports that 75 percent of the deal is fully guaranteed.

A second-round pick of the Carolina Panthers in 2020, Chinn played four years in Carolina before signing with Washington this past offseason. Chinn had an excellent lone season in Washington, tying his career-high 117 tackles (73 solo) and put together a career-high seven tackles for loss. He also forced a fumble and recorded an interception.

Chinn will join Isaiah Pola-Mao in patrolling the safety, and it is difficult to believe the Raiders are done improving their defense.
