The highly anticipated lightweight title bout between Islam Makhachev and Arman Tsarukyan is happening at UFC 311.
In his UFC debut, Tsarukyan first fought Makhachev in April 2019.
Makhachev won the first matchup by unanimous decision. Even though it was his first fight in the UFC, Tsarukyan’s performance was impressive.
Six years have passed since the last meeting between these two.
Tsarukyan is now ranked No. 1 in the lightweight division with a 22-3-0 record. He is now looking for revenge against Makhachev.
It will be difficult for Tsarukyan to exact his revenge, considering that Makhachev is on a 14-fight win streak and one of the best-ranked fighters pound-for-pound.
Makhachev comes into this fight with a 26-1-0 record and looks to be on the hunt for another victory.
The lightweight title bout will take place in the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif. on Saturday, with the early prelims taking place starting at 6 p.m. ET/ 3 p.m. PT. The prelims are at 8 p.m. PT/ 5 p.m. PT, and the main card is at 10 p.m. ET/ 7 p.m. PT.
The main card will be televised live on ESPN+ and DirectTV.
