Vegas Golden Knights goalie Adin Hill made 20 saves in the 3-1 victory against the Vancouver Canucks at T-Mobile Arena on Thursday.
But none were bigger than the save he made on Pius Suter at 11:23, who shot it seven feet from the goal. Suter received a cross-ice pass and fired toward net, but Hill was on his edges properly, dove to his left, and got his glove on the puck to make the save.

“It’s slow-mo. You’re tracking the puck with your eyes and that,” Hill said. “So when the pass went out to the guy who slid it across, I know the guy’s backdoor, but I must respect the shot. So, yeah, just playing my position and a little desperation there.”
Hill’s save minutes after the Canucks had scored, making his save even more timely for the Golden Knights.
“It could have demoralized us for a while, and who knows, right? But it’s the old what-ifs. But we needed it,” Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy said. “When you win a game like tonight, sometimes you forget about that type of save. So good for him. We needed it. We didn’t need a ton of saves tonight. Neither team generated a lot, but certainly that was the very timely one and had a lot to do with us winning.
