With the 80-61 win against the DePaul Blue Demons on Sunday, the Lady Rebels (7-3) look to close out their midwestern tour with another win against the Northwestern Wildcats (5-4).
The Wildcats are looking for a fourth straight win against the Lady Rebels. The Wildcats had five players who scored in double digits in their win against in-state rival Bradley 67-57. Forward Taylor Williams scored 13 points, a team-high and grabbed 11 rebounds. She led the team with her fourth double-double of the season.
Not to be left out the Lady Rebels aren’t 7-3 for nothing. They have a multitude of leaders on their squad. The Lady Rebels have won 3 of their last 4 games with the loss coming at the hands of the Baylor Bears. The Lady Rebels score an average of 74.2 points per game, which a Mountain West best. The Lady Rebels are led by Kiara Jackson, McKinna Brackens, and Amarachi Kimpson. Jackson leads the team in scoring, averaging 13.4 points per game. Aaliyah Alexander led the team in their win over DePaul with a career-high of 25 points.
This is only the fifth time the Wildcats and Lady Rebels have played. The Wildcats lead the series 3-1.
