With the Runnin’ Rebels coming off a convincing victory against the Omaha Mavericks, can the Runnin’ Rebels keep the momentum rolling into their game against Pepperdine?
In their win against Omaha last Thursday, they relied heavily on the consistent scoring of Jalen Hill and the rebounding of Jeremiah Cherry. Jalen Hill led the team, scoring 17 points and collecting 8 rebounds, while Jeremiah Cherry added 17 points and 4 rebounds.
The key to another UNLV victory will be maintaining an early lead and continuing to keep their foot on the pedal against Pepperdine. To execute that strategy effectively, they need to capitalize off any Pepperdine turnovers as they did against Omaha.
This won’t be an easy game for the Runnin’ Rebels. Pepperdine led by Stefan Todorovic, the team’s leading scorer, is scoring 25 points per game. The Wave will come in with a chip on their shoulders after an 18-point loss to UC Irvine on Saturday.
It will be interesting to if Pepperdine can make it a tight game or if the Runnin’ Rebels can keep the steam and pull away with a commanding win.
UNLV will continue their homestand against Pepperdine on Wednesday, Nov. 20th at the Thomas & Mack Center at 7p.m.
