Raiders lose starting QB in first half vs the Rams

The first half of the Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Rams matchup has been filled with
penalties, turnovers, and key moments swinging the game in favor of the Rams.

First Quarter Recap: The opening quarter saw a sluggish start from both teams, with penalties
disrupting offensive momentum. The Raiders were called for offensive holding and intentional
grounding, while the Rams committed a false start. The Raiders also suffered a setback when
starting quarterback Aiden O’Connell left with an injury and is questionable to return. The first
quarter ended in a 0-0 tie with neither team able to capitalize.

Second Quarter Recap: The Raiders broke the scoreless tie early in the second quarter when
kicker Daniel Carlson nailed a 38-yard field goal, putting them ahead 3-0. The Rams turned the
ball over on downs after failing to convert a 4th-and-1 near midfield. However, Raiders backup
QB Gardner Minshew threw a costly interception, though a penalty for illegal formation on the
Raiders but was declined by the Rams.

The Rams capitalized on their next possessions, with running back Kyren Williams rushing for a
13-yard touchdown, giving the Rams a 7-3 lead. Things went from bad to worse for the Raiders
as Minshew fumbled the ball, which was recovered and returned for a touchdown by the Rams
defense, pushing their lead to 14-3.

half, Daniel Carlson added another field goal for the Raiders, this time from 47 yards out, cutting
the Rams; lead to 14-6.
