During OTAs with his new team, the Green Bay Packers, Jacobs addressed the media and his departure from Las Vegas. He joined the Packers in free agency as one of the top running backs in the 2024 class. On March 11, Jacobs signed a four-year, $48 million contract with the club.

The 2019 first round pick was the only remaining player on the team besides Maxx Crosby. It is undeniable that he is one of the best Raiders running backs of all time. 2022 was undeniably his best season as he was the leading rusher in the entire league.
In total, the University of Alabama alum has run for over 5500 yards and 46 touchdowns in his five years. Throughout his career from the first snap to the last, Jacobs was the leader of the Raiders rushing room.
Why Jacobs Wanted to Leave
“With the uncertainty and going through a bunch of different coaches,” Jacobs said. “It felt like an emotional rollercoaster.”
In 2019, the head coach for the Raiders was Jon Gruden and he also brought along his own staff. Gruden was forced to relieve of his duties with the team after the discovery of controversial emails.
In 2022, the Raiders hired Josh McDaniels to be their new coach and decided not to keep any of the old staff members. McDaniels was fired as well after an unsuccessful season leading to more question marks.
“To be at a place where you think you are wanted I think is huge,” Jacobs said.
When he says this, he alludes to the fact that the Raiders were not willing to offer a long-term contract to him. He held out of Raiders training camp for months and still was unable to come to an agreement with the team.
It seems Jacobs is happy to be in a more stable environment with the Packers with a more guaranteed future.
