Most Valuable Promotions officially delivered a blockbuster debut on Netflix. Viewership numbers released Tuesday revealed that MVP MMA 1 headlined by Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano drew more than 12.4 million live viewers globally, making it one of the most-watched MMA events ever streamed.

According to a joint release from MVP co-founders Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, viewership peaked at nearly 17 million during the main event.

Biggest MMA Event Ever In The United States?

The numbers become even more impressive domestically.

The release stated:

  • The triple-main card averaged 9.3 million viewers in the United States
  • Peak U.S. viewership reached 11.6 million during Rousey vs. Carano
  • The event became the “most watched MMA event ever in the U.S.” according to MVP

The card also generated:

  • Over 410 million social media impressions
  • A live gate exceeding $2.2 million
  • Major commercial distribution across bars, casinos and restaurants nationwide

Main Card Delivered Nonstop Action

The event’s success was fueled by an action-packed main card that featured several high-profile finishes.

Highlights included:

  • Rousey submitting Carano in just 17 seconds
  • Mike Perry stopping Nate Diaz after two brutal rounds
  • Francis Ngannou knocking out Philipe Lins in Round 1
  • Quick finishes from Salahdine Parnasse and Robelis Despaigne

Remarkably, the entire main card reportedly featured only about 22 minutes of total cage time during a 3.5-hour broadcast.

MVP MMA Already Looking Toward Expansion

In their statement, Paul and Bidarian made it clear this may only be the beginning for MVP MMA. “We’ve received an overwhelming amount of interest from investors, strategic partners, and fighters who want to be involved with MVP and the future of MVP MMA.”

The promotion added that it is now reviewing “all strategic options” moving forward alongside Netflix.

The strong debut immediately positions MVP MMA as a legitimate player in combat sports especially as tensions between MVP figures and the UFC continue escalating publicly.

Before the event, Rousey publicly said she hoped the card would surpass nine million viewers on Netflix. Instead, the event significantly exceeded that mark and helped produce one of the largest audiences in MMA history. For MVP, Netflix and everyone involved, the debut appears to have surpassed nearly every expectation imaginable.
