Today is Wednesday, April 29, and 10 days remain until the Las Vegas Aces open the 2026 season. At Dice City Sports, we are counting down to opening tip as the defending champs chase a fourth championship in five years while we rank the top 14 players in franchise history.

Kayla McBride

McBride checks in at No. 10 after a long run as one of the franchise’s most dependable scorers. Across seven seasons with San Antonio and Las Vegas from 2014-20, she averaged 14.7 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 195 games.

Her production started right away. McBride made the All-Rookie team in 2014 after averaging 13.0 points, then became an All-Star in 2015. She followed with 17.1 points per game in 2016 and 15.4 in 2017. After the move to Las Vegas, McBride delivered one of the best scoring seasons of her franchise career in 2018, averaging 18.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists while earning All-Star honors and MVP votes. She added another All-Star season in 2019 and remained a key piece in 2020.

Why she ranks here

McBride ranks this high because she was an elite scorer across two eras of the franchise. Her consistency, outside shooting and ability to carry the offense made her one of the organization’s top perimeter threats before the championship core fully took shape.

Background

McBride was born June 25, 1992, in Erie, Pa. She starred at Notre Dame and attended Villa Maria Academy in Erie, Pa. The San Antonio Stars selected her with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2014 WNBA Draft.

Career check

In 374 WNBA games, McBride averaged 14.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting 41.2% from the field, 37.3% from 3-point range and 89.6% from the free-throw line. She is a five-time All-Star and a 2014 All-Rookie selection.

Next up tomorrow: No. 9.
