Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese (5) warms up before a WNBA game against the Connecticut Sun at Wintrust Arena.
The Rose showed more struggle this season than last, finishing as the No. 4 seed at 6-8. A big reason was the limited availability of Angel Reese, who suited up in only three of the team’s 14 games. Still, even in that short stretch, Reese made her presence felt. She missed most of the season, then returned and made life miserable for opponents, which speaks to her impact.
Reese Controls The Board
Reese also tapped into her inner Dennis Rodman, becoming the fastest player to reach 200 career rebounds. She did it in just 17 games, which comes out to 11.8 rebounds per game. And even in her three appearances this season, she stayed dominant on the glass, grabbing 31 total rebounds.
Her best impact came Feb. 22 in a 70-66 win over the Laces, when Reese owned the glass with 15 rebounds. She finished one point shy of a double-double and stuffed the stat sheet with 9 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block and 2 steals. She did it in just 17.7 minutes, and she posted a plus-9, the best mark on Rose, even ahead of MVP teammate Chelsea Gray.
Reese keeps proving she can tilt a game with her rebounding and energy. Because of that, fans keep wondering what Rose could have done with her for a full season. Rose lost to the Breeze in the first round, and with Reese available more often, the upset talk would have felt a lot more real.
Now Reese heads into the 2026 WNBA season with momentum and a spotlight that keeps getting brighter.
