LAS VEGAS — The Golden Knights defeated the Minnesota Wild 4-2 on Sunday night. The win gave them a 1-0 series lead.
Tomas Hertl gave the Golden Knights an early 1-0 lead in the first period. Matt Boldy answered to tie the game in the first period. Pavel Dorofeyev added a goal in the second period to increase the lead to 2-1.
Brett Howden added a goal to push the lead to 3-1 in the third period. Matt Boldy scored again to cut the lead to 3-2. Howden sealed the win with an empty-net goal to give Vegas the 4-2 win.
Adin Hill added 19 saves while allowing two goals. The Golden Knights will host the Wild on Tuesday for game 2.
