- What: NHL Western Conference Playoffs First Round Game 2
- When: April 22, 2025
- Who: Minnesota Wild vs. Vegas Golden Knights
- Time: 8:00 p.m. PST
- Where: T-Mobile Arena (Las Vegas, NV)
The Minnesota Wild will play the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 2 of their Western Conference first-round series in the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Tuesday. The puck will drop at T-Mobile Arena at 8 p.m. PST.
The Golden Knights lead the series 1-0 after a 4-2 victory at home in Game 1, where they were heavy favorites at -247.
Tomas Hertl and Pavel Dorofeyev scored for Vegas, while Brett Howden added two goals in the third period, including an empty-netter that created a tense finish for bettors.
The Wild have struggled against the Golden Knights this season, now at 0-4 in matchups, having lost their last six encounters. Matt Boldy scored both goals for Minnesota, but coach John Hynes remained optimistic about their performance despite the loss.
Filip Gustavsson took the loss in goaltending, allowing three goals on 26 shots, while Adin Hill, who won Game 1, stopped 18 of 20 shots. Hill has a strong playoff record and is 3-0 against the Wild this season.
They have consistently beaten Minnesota by two or more goals, and with Hill playing well, there’s plenty of reason to back Vegas. The Wild are still seeking their first playoff series win since the 2014-15 season.
Given the Wild’s struggles and Vegas’s continued success, I lean toward the Golden Knights to win in regulation.
Best Bet: Golden Knights to win in regulation at -155 odds
