- What: NBA Regular Season Game
- When: February 23, 2025
- Who: OKC Thunder vs. Minnesota Timberwolves
- Time: 6:30 p.m. PST
- Where: Target Center (Minneapolis, MN)
The Minnesota Timberwolves (31-26) will play the Oklahoma City Thunder (45-10) in the NBA tonight. The game will tip off at 9:30 p.m. ET at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and will be broadcast live on ESPN.
The Thunder are favored by 8.5 points over the Timberwolves (Thunder -8.5), and the total points over/under are set at 227.5. Oklahoma City is listed as a -375 favorite to win, while Minnesota stands at +295 for an upset victory.
OKC
This season, the Thunder have an impressive record of 13-2 straight up and 12-3 against the spread when facing teams they’ve previously lost to.
However, the Wolves have a formidable approach, even in the absence of Gobert and Julius Randle.

They will likely utilize Naz Reid in a small-ball five position, which will spread the floor and create better spacing. Coupled with their defensive intensity, this strategy gives them a viable shot at success.
Minnesota
Rudy Gobert has been ruled out for this game, which is a significant setback for the Timberwolves’ ability to defend the rim and contest the Oklahoma City offense. However, without Gobert, the Wolves can adopt a five-out offensive strategy.
Here’s an interesting stat: since acquiring Rudy Gobert, the Wolves have gone 13-9 straight up and 17-5 against the spread when he hasn’t played.
always an exciting battle.

While I don’t believe Gobert is overrated—at least not anymore—it’s evident that the market tends to overvalue his impact on the spread.
The Wolves recently defeated the Thunder before the break, so Oklahoma City will be seeking revenge in this matchup.
Thunder-Timberwolves Best Bet
In their previous matchup before the break, the total score went under, and I’m inclined to take the Under for this game as well.
Despite the Thunder leading the league in scoring, they sit at 15th in possessions per game, while the Timberwolves are 20th in scoring and 26th in possessions.
Additionally, Minnesota is dealing with some injuries, and their leading scorer, Edwards, has faced difficulties with his shooting in the last three games.
I’ll take Under 227.5 points in this one.
Best Bet: Under 227.5 Points at -110 odds.
