Aces Mystics
The Mystics come into this game on a one game winning streak defeating the La Sparks in their last game. Washington won 82-80 with five players in double figures led by Shatori Walker-Kimbrough with 17 points.
Interesting fact about this game is that these teams faced off on June 29. The Aces won the previous game 88-77, but it wasn’t an easy one.
At the half, Washington would lead the Aces, but the second half would be all Aces, and in the fourth quarter, they would limit Washington to only 8 points.
Stefanie Dolson, who has been shooting the three ball effectively, was one bright light for the Mystics in that first game. She shot 8-11 from the field and 5-6 from three to score 23 points against the Aces the previous time. Dolson was ruled a gametime decision for tonight’s game due to an illness.

Dolson had an effect on defense as well, playing tough defense against A’ja Wilson, who scored a season-low 11 points on 4–15 shooting in the previous game.In their most recent meeting, Chelsea Gray stole the show. She had her greatest performance since returning from injury, scoring 23 points on 8-9 field goal and 3-3 three-point shooting.
Kelsey Plum, who shot 1-8 from the field in the previous matchup, was another player that struggled. However, Plum bounced back in the Aces last game, with a season-high 34 points against the Fever.
In the last meeting with the Mystics, Jackie Young led the Aces with a game-high 26 points on 8–12 shooting and 3-6 from three. It will be interesting to see who steps up for the Aces tonight as any night any player can go off.
Will the shorthanded Mystics come into Michelob Ultra Arena and shock the Aces, or will the Aces win their sixth straight game? The Aces will travel to Los Angeles to play the Sparks on Friday after this game. The game is scheduled to air on ION at 7 p.m.
