In a stunning development, Candace Parker has informed the world that she is retiring, she took to Instagram and made the announcement.
Parker’s announcement has indeed sent shockwaves through the WNBA community. New York Liberty star Breanna Stewart was definitely surprised by the news. “What?! Wow,” Stewart said. “… Obviously Candace has had an amazing career… I’m a little bit sad about it because you love going up against her and the legend that she is. What she’s done on the court and off the court has been amazing for our league. Really appreciate everything she’s done to help me get to where I am. “That really did shock me. We’ll definitely miss her this season.”

Nevertheless Candace Parker is one of the greatest players in College and WNBA history.
Parker is A two-time national champion at Tennessee, two time final four MVP, Naismith winner for the Vols. She’s regarded as one of the best players ever to play in the college game when she left Tennessee. the Los Angeles Sparks selected her first overall in the 2008 WNBA draft. As a rookie, she averaged 18.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.3 blocks en route to winning MVP. Still till this day, she is the only player in WNBA history to win both the Rookie of the year award and the MVP award in the same year. Without a doubt, Candace Parker is clearly in the greatest of all time conversation for WNBA players.
