Paseo Verde Little League is one win from the Little League World Series championship game.
The Henderson team will face Hamilton West Side Little League of Ohio in the United States Championship Game at 12:30 p.m. PDT Saturday at Lamade Stadium.
It will be a rematch of Paseo Verde’s tournament opener, when Henderson rallied from a 5-2 deficit and won 6-5 on Hudson Cowley’s walk-off single in the sixth inning.
Hamilton earns another shot
Hamilton advanced with a 7-1 win over Davenport, Iowa.
Walker Osborne threw a complete game, allowing four hits and one run while striking out four. Hamilton also jumped ahead early with four runs in the first inning and finished with 12 hits.
That sets up another meeting with a Paseo Verde team that has gone 3-0 in Williamsport.
Henderson followed its walk-off win over Hamilton with a 5-0 shutout of Soundview Little League, then beat Davenport 14-6 on Wednesday.
Paseo Verde has outscored its three opponents 25-11.
One win from Sunday
Saturday’s winner will advance to Sunday’s Little League World Series championship game.
For Paseo Verde, that means beating Hamilton for a second time and turning an unbeaten run through the U.S. bracket into a shot at the world title.
