Raul Rosas Jr. delivered the most significant victory of his young UFC career on Saturday night, dominating veteran Rob Font with relentless wrestling en route to a unanimous decision win at UFC 326. Across three rounds, Rosas overwhelmed Font with 16 takedowns, keeping the fight grounded while the longtime bantamweight contender struggled repeatedly to escape. All three judges scored the bout 30–27 for Rosas. “I was planning to get the knockout but I saw it was too easy to get the takedown,” Rosas said afterward. “I’m not satisfied, I wanted the finish… he did a hell of a job surviving.”
Wrestling-Controlled Fight
Font started strong with a sharp jab early, but Rosas quickly changed the dynamic by taking the fight to the mat.
Once there, Rosas stayed glued to Font, constantly dragging him back down whenever he tried to stand. The pattern repeated throughout the fight:
While Rosas didn’t inflict significant damage from top position, his control and takedown dominance left Font with little opportunity to mount offense.
Looking Toward the Rankings
Now 6–1 in the UFC, Rosas believes the win should earn him a spot in the bantamweight rankings. “I’m going to have a number next to my name. Anybody in the top 10, I’m going for the belt.”
Though still only 21, Rosas continues to show rapid development as one of the UFC’s most promising young prospects. With a dominant win over a seasoned veteran like Font, the next logical step could be a matchup against a ranked contender a fight that would reveal just how close Rosas is to entering the bantamweight title picture.
