The Golden Knights host the Dallas Stars tonight at T-Mobile Arena, and the rivalry already has an outdoor sequel lined up. The NHL announced Thursday that Vegas will visit Dallas in the 2027 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The game is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 20, 2027, with a 5 p.m. PT puck drop on ABC. The league said ticketing details will come later, and the Golden Knights are pointing fans to a priority list for updates and pregame events.
Third outdoor stage for Vegas
Vegas will make its third outdoor appearance in franchise history. The Golden Knights played the Colorado Avalanche at NHL Outdoors at Lake Tahoe on Feb. 20, 2021, then faced the Seattle Kraken in the 2024 Discover NHL Winter Classic at T-Mobile Park.
The NHL framed the matchup as another spotlight moment for two clubs that keep showing up in the West. Vegas has made the playoffs in seven of its first eight seasons and won the Stanley Cup in 2022-23.
AT&T Stadium adds hockey to a busy calendar
AT&T Stadium opened in 2009 and has hosted major events across multiple sports. The building has staged Super Bowl XLV, the Cotton Bowl Classic and other marquee college football dates.
The NHL also noted the venue will host nine FIFA World Cup matches in summer 2026, from group play through a semifinal. That makes the Stadium Series another high-profile stop for a building built for big crowds and bigger TV windows.
Tonight, at the Fortress
Before anyone turns the page to 2027, Vegas and Dallas start their season series tonight in Las Vegas. The Golden Knights (25-14-13) host the Stars (30-14-9) at 7 p.m. at T-Mobile Arena, according to the team’s morning skate report.
Scripps Sports will carry the game locally, with streaming on KnightTime+. Radio coverage is on FOX Sports Las Vegas 94.7/1340 and Deportes Vegas 1460.
Dorofeyev is pushing the pace
Pavel Dorofeyev enters on a heater, with eight goals in his last nine games. He also leads Vegas with 24 goals this season, per the morning skate report.
The Knights could use that finish after a 3-2 overtime loss at Montreal on Tuesday. Dorofeyev scored both Vegas goals in that game.
Discipline will matter against Dallas’ power play
Vegas has taken 150 penalties this season, the fewest in the NHL, and that discipline gets tested tonight. Dallas brings one of the league’s most productive power plays, and the morning skate report credits the Stars with 46 power-play goals.
The same report notes Wyatt Johnston leads the NHL with 17 power-play goals. If Vegas keeps the game at 5-on-5, it gives itself a cleaner path to control pace and matchups at home.
Stone, Eichel and milestones to watch
Mark Stone has piled up 21 points in January, and the morning skate report lists him with the fourth most points in the league this month. Vegas also has franchise milestones creeping closer, with Jack Eichel five assists from 200 as a Golden Knight and Shea Theodore eight assists from 300 in team history.
On the career side, Adin Hill sits one win from 100 and five games from 200. Tomas Hertl is six points from 600, while Mitch Marner is seven points from 800.
Familiar games, bigger stage coming
Dallas and Vegas played three one-goal games last season, and two of them went to overtime, according to the morning skate report. That tight history is part of what makes tonight useful and what makes 2027 easy to sell.
The Knights and Stars will see each other three times this season. In February 2027, they will do it again with the whole league watching from a football stadium in Texas.
