The November 14 exhibition between Jake Paul and Gervonta “Tank” Davis at Miami’s Kaseya Center is set to deliver more than just star power in the main event. On Tuesday, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) announced a stacked undercard featuring multiple world championship bouts and historic moments for both men’s and women’s boxing. The entire event streams live on Netflix.
Unified junior lightweight champion Alycia Baumgardner (16-1, 7 KOs) will defend her WBA, WBO, and IBF titles against Canadian challenger Leila Beudoin (13-1, 2 KOs) in the evening’s co-main event.
The bout will make history: it will be contested under men’s championship rules 12 rounds, 3 minutes per round something Baumgardner has long advocated for in the pursuit of equality in the sport.
Alycia Baumgardner recently vacated her WBC title after the sanctioning body refused to recognize women’s championship fights under these terms.
“Fighting 12×3:00 represents equality,” Baumgardner said. “I’m here to show the world I am built for any and everything. AND STILL!”
Gary Antuanne Russell’s First Title Defense
On the men’s side, Gary Antuanne Russell (18-1, 17 KOs) will make his first defense of the WBA junior welterweight championship against unbeaten Japanese contender Andy Hiraoka (24-0, 19 KOs).
Russell captured the vacant belt in March by defeating Jose Valenzuela. While Hiraoka earned his mandatory spot with a ninth-round stoppage of Ismael Barroso in 2024.
“Gary Russell is a great champion,” Hiraoka said, “but I am coming to Miami to win his belt and become Japan’s next world champion.”
Ellie Scotney Chases Undisputed Glory
The prelims bring a historic clash in the women’s junior bantamweight division. Ellie Scotney (11-0), already a unified champion. Will meet Mayelli Flores (13-1-1, 4 KOs) with the undisputed crown on the line.
At just 27, Scotney has a chance to become the youngest UK fighter male or female to fight for an undisputed title.
“Belt by belt, I’ve earned this the hard way,” Scotney said. “Undisputed has always been the goal, and on Nov. 14 I’ll make history.”
