  • What: MLB Regular Season Game
  • When: July 13, 2025
  • Who:   Toronto Blue Jays vs. A’s
  • Time:  1:05 p.m. PST
  • Where: Sutter Health Park (West Sacramento, CA)

The Toronto Blue Jays (54-39) will play the A’s (39-56) at Sutter Health Park at 1:05 p.m. PST.

In their last matchup before the all-star break, the Blue Jays aim to secure a victory in the rubber match of their three-game series against the Athletics in West Sacramento, California.

Toronto has been on a roll, claiming victory in five consecutive series, highlighted by a recent 10-game winning streak. This streak has propelled them to the top of the division with a 55-40 record.

However, the Blue Jays’ 4-3 defeat against the Athletics (40-57) on Saturday, marked by three errors, raised the stakes for Sunday’s final game. Toronto is eager to avoid heading into the break on a negative note.

Pitching Matchup

José Berríos (5-3, 3.53 ERA) is set to take the mound for the Blue Jays, facing off against A’s lefty Jeffrey Springs (7-6, 3.92) in what promises to be a competitive pitchers’ duel.

Berríos recently delivered a strong performance in his last game against the Chicago White Sox, allowing just two hits and one run over six innings to earn the victory.

Similarly, Springs pitched six solid innings and gave up only one run in his last start against the Atlanta Braves. However, he struggled against the Blue Jays in May, surrendering six runs in just two innings.

Capitalizing on Springs could be crucial for the Blue Jays, who boast an impressive 39-3 record when scoring five or more runs in a game. This matchup on Sunday marks the seventh meeting between these two teams this season, and the Blue Jays currently lead the series 5-1.

The only loss on Saturday came as the Blue Jays struggled to generate much offense at the hitter-friendly minor league stadium that the A’s are currently using before relocating to Las Vegas.

Toronto managed three runs on six hits during the game, and starter Kevin Gausman went only five innings.

However, Sunday presents a chance for the Blue Jays to move past that defeat and gear up for the second half of the season, which could bring tough competition for playoff spots.

Before Sunday’s game, the New York Yankees (53-42) trailed the Blue Jays by two games, while the third-place Boston Red Sox (52-45) were four games back, riding a nine-game winning streak.
