Keyshawn Davis: “I Wanna Fight Devin Haney”

Keyshawn Davis has unfinished business on May 16. But he’s already thinking about what comes next. The former lightweight champion returns home to Norfolk for a rematch against Nahir Albright at Scope Arena, yet Davis made it clear during a recent interview that one name remains high on his target list: Devin Haney.

Davis (14-0, 10 KOs) says he’s serious about making the fight happen. “I wanna fight Devin Haney,” Davis said. “His father told me to stand on my word and I’m doing it.” The timing is notable as Haney’s future remains one of boxing’s biggest storylines, with ongoing speculation surrounding:

  • A potential Ryan Garcia rematch
  • Rumored Zuffa-related opportunities
  • Possible mega-fights against Shakur Stevenson

Davis believes his name belongs in that same tier. “When you say Devin Haney versus Keyshawn Davis, that is a sellout event.”

Focus First: Nahir Albright

Before chasing bigger fights, Davis must first settle things with Albright (17-2-1, 7 KOs). The Philadelphia fighter has quietly rebuilt momentum since their first meeting, including:

  • Handing Kelvin Davis his first loss
  • Battling Frank Martin to a draw earlier this year

Davis admitted the rematch was largely pushed by Top Rank. “If it was my choice I would have chose a tougher opponent.” Still, he praised Albright’s ability and warned fans not to overlook him. “People is just not familiar with Nahir. I honestly had him winning that fight.”

Since moving up to 140 pounds, Davis has produced back-to-back stoppage victories and appears increasingly comfortable at super lightweight. Now he’s predicting another knockout.

Davis expects Albright to become the fourth straight opponent he stops as he continues building momentum in the division.

The Rise of DB3

The Norfolk card also highlights the growing “DB3” family boxing movement.

Alongside Keyshawn, brothers:

  • Kelvin Davis
  • Keon Davis

are both scheduled to compete.

Davis credited Kelvin for originally creating the DB3 concept before it evolved into a broader family brand. “They right with me right now,” Davis said. “On May 16th, 3 and 0, all stoppages.”

At just 14 professional fights into his career, Keyshawn Davis is quickly positioning himself as one of boxing’s emerging stars. With names like Haney, Stevenson, and Garcia dominating headlines, Davis clearly wants in on the sport’s biggest conversations.
