The Raiders are entering their sixth season in Las Vegas. The team, formerly based in Oakland, played its last Bay Area game in 2019 and has not returned since. That is about to change. This season marks an exciting time for football fans as the Raiders prepare to return to the Bay Area.

This season, the Raiders will face the 49ers as an away game. The only uncertainty was whether the game would take place at the 49ers’ home in Santa Clara. Alternatively, the game could be relocated to Mexico City by the NFL.

On Wednesday morning, the NFL released its full international game schedule. It confirmed that the 49ers will play the Minnesota Vikings in Mexico City. As a result, this announcement makes it official: the Raiders will return to the Bay Area for the first time since leaving after the 2019 season.

Since then, the Raiders have not played even a preseason game in the Bay Area. There was discussion last year about moving their training camp back to Napa. However, it has not happened yet.

The Raiders will release their schedule on Thursday at 4:30 pm Pacific time, at which point the date of the game against the 49ers will be confirmed.
