- What: MLB Regular Season Game
- When: July 10, 2025
- Who: Atlanta Braves vs. A’s
- Time: 6:05 p.m. PST
- Where: Sutter Health Park (West Sacramento, CA)
The Braves and Athletics have each claimed one victory in their series, with the decisive game set to take place tonight, July 10.
Atlanta will send Spencer Strider to the mound as he continues his journey back to All-Star-level performance following a second major elbow injury in 2024. Meanwhile, the Athletics will counter with JP Sears.
According to the odds, the Braves are favored at -190 on the money line, while the Athletics are the underdogs at +155. The total runs for the game is projected at over/under 10.5.
The first two games of the series have been full of surprises. The Athletics took game one decisively, 10-1, but the Braves responded by winning game two, 9-2.
Both games narrowly exceeded the over/under of 10.5 runs set for tonight’s matchup.
Pitching Matchup
On the mound for Atlanta will be Spencer Strider, who recently allowed three earned runs on seven hits over six innings in his last appearance against Baltimore.
Although he hasn’t fully regained his All-Star form yet, he still maintains a 3.93 ERA across 55 innings pitched.
While those numbers don’t scream All-Star, they are enough to rank him as one of Atlanta’s top starters, especially considering the absence of Chris Sale and Spencer Schwellenbach, who are on the 60-day injured list.
Conversely, JP Sears will take the hill for the Athletics. He has a higher ERA of 4.76 through 92.2 innings pitched, reflecting a larger sample size.
Despite not having the ideal ERA, Sears has been a reliable option for the Athletics over his 3.5 seasons, consistently posting a 4.00 ERA or higher, which lends predictability to his outings.
That said, Sears has demonstrated flashes of brilliance and is currently in one of those productive phases.
He hasn’t allowed any earned runs in his last two starts against the Yankees and Giants.
If he can carry that momentum into tonight’s game against a struggling Braves offense, it could significantly enhance the Athletics’ chances of clinching the series.
This one has all the makings of a low-scoring slugfest. Take the under.
Best Bet: Under 10.5 runs at -110 odds
