- Where: Michelob ULTRA Arena (Las Vegas, NV)
The Atlanta Dream will play the Las Vegas Aces this Friday at Michelob Ultra Arena in Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino.
Atlanta Dream
Given the Dream’s recent performance, their upcoming game against the Las Vegas Aces, who have only secured two wins in their last seven contests, is of significant importance.
It’s a chance for Atlanta to turn their recent losses into wins and bounce back. They are currently just one game behind the Chicago Sky for the eighth and final playoff spot in the league.

Despite the Dream’s recent losses, all of which were by five points or less, their defense has struggled. They have allowed an average of 80 points in the last three games compared to 71.3 points per game in the three post-Olympic wins.
Atlanta is the lowest-scoring team in the league, scoring 76.1 points per game, and its defensive struggles have made it difficult to secure wins.
Las Vegas Aces
In their most recent match, the Aces lost to the Stars in Dallas by a narrow 93-90 score despite a remarkable 42-point performance by A’ja Wilson, who is a favorite for the WNBA MVP title.
Although the Aces excel in scoring, leading the league with an average of 87 points per game, their defensive performance has been a concern.
In their recent losses, they have allowed an average of 90 points per game, with three games seeing their opponents scoring at least 93 points.

The Aces have been dominant in head-to-head matchups, securing eight victories in the last ten encounters. However, Atlanta has been performing well against the spread, covering in seven of the last ten.
Despite the challenges, the Aces are still in contention for a higher seed in the playoffs.
They are trailing Seattle by just one game for the fourth spot in the standings, which could secure them the coveted homecourt advantage in the first round of the playoffs.
Dream-Aces Best Bet
Both of these teams have been struggling and need a win in the worst way. The Aces are 1-3 in their last four and haven’t covered the spread in their last 9 games! Meanwhile the Dream are coming into this matchup after losing 3 straight.
I don’t understand how oddsmakers have placed a 10-point spread in this one when both teams have been unable to win much less cover in these games.
While the Aces most likely win this matchup, I can’t see them winning by more than 10 points in such an important game for the Dream.
I’d take the Dream +10 points in this one as I see them losing a close game late.
