There’s big expectations from tight end Brock Bowers for the Las Vegas Raiders. Drafted at number 13th overall, the Raiders didn’t necessarily need to draft another tight end. Considering the fact that they drafted Michael Mayer in the second round in the previous draft. Bowers was clearly the best player available. Drafting Brock Bowers gives the Raiders a potential match up nightmare when they line up in two tight end sets.
Bowers hasn’t played since the first preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings where he had 2 receptions for 25 yards. Head Coach Antonio Pierce decided to hold Bowers out of their second preseason game against the Cowboys. Fans were wondering where was their prized rookie at as his absence was noticeable. That’s when Pierce alerted everyone that Bowers was dealing with a sore foot and is being held out as a precautionary measure. Foot injuries can end up lingering so the rest is very necessary.

Return this week?
Bowers is hoping to make a return to the practice field this week. That will be very important as Bowers would like to try to build more of a connection with QB1 Garner Minshew. Tight Ends are always a safety net for quarterbacks so the more comfortable Minshew is with Bowers the more likely the offense will be playing at a high level. Davante Adams needs some help and some attention taken off of him. Teams like to double team him because they don’t fear anyone else on the offense. Bowers health is essential for the Raiders success on offense this season.
