In his first practice since being named the starter, Gardner Minshew took reps with the first team while Aidan O’Connell worked to improve with the second team.
Yet, the practice’s most surprising turn was the defense, particularly the omnipresent Maxx Crosby, who delivered an astonishing pick-six.

It was also notable that Brock Bowers missed practice treating a foot injury. Although the team was missing Bowers, Davante Adams was present.

The Minshew-Adams connection definitely is a work in progress, but I will mention Michael Mayer did make a few nice catches over the middle.
Watching the Raiders practice the new kickoff was also very interesting. There were no trick or gadget plays involving the kick return, but there was one return that went all the way for a touchdown.
The new kickoff rules are definitely going to take some getting used to.
