Miami — Size won’t be Jake Paul’s only weapon against Gervonta “Tank” Davis on Nov. 14. The cruiserweight YouTuber-turned-boxer says he’s brought in some of the sport’s slickest smaller technicians Ray Ford, Montana Love, and soon Shakur Stevenson to sharpen his timing and tempo ahead of their Netflix headliner at the Kaseya Center.
“We have world champions. Ray Ford from the 130-pound weight class. We’ve got Montana Love, and Shakur Stevenson is coming,” Paul told TMZ. “We’re really focusing on speed and not as much on power… I’m actually trying to lose some muscle so my punches are coming off faster.”
Stevenson confirmed he’ll lend a hand:
“Fire I get a chance to pick a great business mind and help give some game in the process. I’m down,” he posted on social media.
Fight framework

-

-

Paul (12–1, 7 KOs) embraces the underdog narrative against the undefeated lightweight star Davis (30–0–1, 28 KOs).
“I’m a fierce competitor. I am ready to shock the world and even shock myself to show what I am capable of,” Paul said.
Why the smaller sparring?
Davis’ game is built on compact power, explosive entries, and counters—attributes Ford, Love, and Stevenson can simulate with speed and angles that stress Paul’s defense and decision-making. Trading mass for mobility signals a tactical pivot: Paul aiming to match timing, not just muscle.
Bottom line: Paul is betting that elite, lighter sparring partners and a speed-first camp can bridge the skill gap against one of boxing’s most devastating finishers. November 14 will tell if the experiment pays off.
