- What: NBA Western Conference Playoffs First Round Game 4
- When: April 27, 2025
- Who: Los Angeles Lakers vs. Minnesota Timberwolves
- Time: 12:30 p.m. PST
- Where: Target Center (Minneapolis, MN)
This Sunday, the Los Angeles Lakers aim to level their best-of-seven first-round NBA Playoff series against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The game will start at 12:30 p.m. PST at Target Center in Minneapolis.
The Timberwolves currently lead the season series 2-1. Minnesota secured a 116-104 victory in Game 3 on Friday, covering the spread as a 4-point favorite while the Over (207.5) hit.
Forward Jaden McDaniels had an outstanding performance with 30 points, while guard Anthony Edwards contributed significantly with 29 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists.
Notably, Minnesota dominated the paint, outscoring L.A. 56-26. On Friday, the Lakers’ forward LeBron James scored an impressive 38 points and 10 rebounds.
However, guard Luka Doncic struggled with a stomach illness, managing only 17 points on 16 shots and contributing weak defensive efforts.
The Lakers also faced challenges with ball control, losing the turnover battle 16-8. Doncic and guard Austin Reaves combined for nine of those mistakes.
Friday’s loss was tough for L.A., but I have faith in the talents of Doncic and James to help the Lakers cover the spread in this matchup.
Additionally, I expect Reaves to step up offensively for the Lakers, as he has yet to shoot above 50% in this series, making his scoring crucial.
While the Timberwolves have appeared superior in this series, the gap isn’t as significant as it seems over the Lakers.
They got off to a strong start in Game 1, then faced a loss in their first road playoff game. I anticipate a Lakers rebound with a victory in Game 4 this afternoon.
I’ll take the Lakers to pull off the upset over the Timberwolves in this one.
