The Houston Rockets will face the Golden State Warriors in California on Saturday. Both teams strive to take the lead in Game 3 of this best-of-seven first-round playoff series.
The matchup at Chase Center is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. PST. The series is tied at 1-1.
In Game 2, the Rockets delivered a decisive 109-94 victory over the Warriors, who were without forward Jimmy Butler III for most of the game due to a pelvic injury.
Jalen Green rebounded from a poor performance in Game 1, exploding for 38 points in this win. Additionally, the Rockets dominated the boards, out-rebounding the Warriors 47-33.
Golden State’s offense faltered without Butler, with Stephen Curry being the only player to surpass 12 points.
The Warriors also turned the ball over 15 times and struggled at the free-throw line, shooting just 11-for-18 (61.1%). Their defense was compromised without Butler, allowing five Rockets players to score in double figures during the game.
Though the Warriors are a more experienced team, and Chase Center lacks the intimidation factor of the former Oracle Arena, it should still provide an advantage for Golden State.
The Warriors have also historically been strong against the Rockets, holding a 7-3 record in their last 10 meetings. This bet becomes significantly riskier if Butler cannot play.
Even in Butler’s absence, Curry’s expression was determined as the Rockets won Game 2, and I have faith that he won’t let his team lose this crucial game.
I love the Warriors to come out on top of the Rockets in this one. I don’t think the status of Jimmy Butler matters as much for this game.
