Get ready for an explosive matchup as the Golden State Warriors face off against the Dallas Mavericks this Tuesday in West Group C action of the Emirates NBA Cup tournament at the Chase Center.
Golden State has a stronger record than Dallas in covering the spread, with an impressive 8-2 record against the spread (ATS), whereas the Mavericks are 5-5.

The Dallas Mavericks suffered their second straight defeat after losing to the Denver Nuggets 122-120 on Sunday.
Despite the loss, the Mavericks managed to cover the spread, primarily due to the outstanding performance of point guard Kyrie Irving. Irving scored 43 points, five rebounds, and five assists on an impressive 17-for-22 shooting performance.
MVP candidate forward Luka Doncic made a significant contribution, coming close to a triple-double with 24 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists while shooting nine-for-19 from the field.

On defense, Dallas excelled, registering seven steals and five blocks and creating 10 second-chance opportunities.
Looking ahead to their road matchup against the Golden State Warriors, the Mavericks will need shooting guard Klay Thompson to regain his form.
Since joining Dallas this offseason, the 34-year-old former Warrior has averaged just 14.2 points on 36.6% shooting from beyond the arc, a notable decline from his 17.9 points per game last season.
In addition to Thompson, the Mavericks will need their bench to elevate their performance and help share the offensive burden, particularly after Irving’s impressive display last Sunday.
When Dallas faced the Nuggets, their bench only contributed 16 points, which won’t suffice against a Warriors team full of scoring options.
Golden State Warriors
Entering as six-point underdogs on Sunday, the Golden State Warriors defied the odds by defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder 127-116, now claiming the top spot in the Western Conference standings.
After a disappointing game in which he was held to just 12 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers, two-time MVP Stephen Curry bounced back in a big way, scoring a season-high 36 points, along with seven assists and five rebounds.
The Warriors’ defense was also commendable on the road. It effectively limited a potent Thunder offense to just 33.3% shooting from beyond the arc and forced eight unforced turnovers.

For the Warriors to succeed, they must dominate the rebounding game and get shooting guard Buddy Hield back on track, particularly given the Mavericks’ offensive depth.
After a streak of four consecutive games scoring 20 points, the 31-year-old Hield has struggled recently, averaging just nine points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists over his last three outings.
Considering everything, the 2.5-point spread could be worth something, especially since the Warriors have only lost once at home this season.
Mavericks-Warriors Best Bet
It’s understandable that the Warriors are favored in this one. However, last season, the Mavericks won all three matchups against the Warriors, going 3-0 against the spread.
As Klay Thompson returns to the Bay Area for the first time since leaving, he will likely carry a chip on his shoulder. However, whether this motivation will help him overcome his recent struggles and deliver a standout performance is uncertain.
The Warriors are unbeaten at home, and I don’t see that changing in this matchup. While Thompson may have a good game, it won’t be enough to overcome the Warriors.
I’d bet the Warriors and lay the 2.5 points at -110 odds at BetMGM.
