Angel Reese shades Aces as Sky announces Tyler Marsh as new head coach

The Chicago Sky shook up the WNBA Sunday when they announced that Las Vegas Aces assistant Tyler Marsh will be their next head coach.

Marsh, who is 36, spent three years with the team and was there when the Aces won back-to-back championships.

He follows former head coach Teresa Weatherspoon, who was let go after a 2024 campaign that saw the Sky finish with a 13-27 mark, missing the playoffs.

The move shocked Aces players who took to social media to express their hurt and disappointment that Marsh was leaving.

Meanwhile, Sky star Angel Reese, took to X to celebrate her new head coach. Posting just simply W.

Aces star Sydney Colson was not having any of it, replying: “Excuse me?! We’re grieving, have some ???? respect!”

But Reese clapped back: “Sorry but your time is UP. It’s our turn! I’ll send you some tissue tho sister girl unless you want to come join this side too ????.”

Colson wasn’t the only Aces player who reacted to the news, Aj’a Wilson also expressed herself about the move too.

The Aces have gone through a lot of upheavals this off-season, not only losing Marsh but announcing that general manager Nikki Williams wouldn’t be returning next year either but this has to be expected.

As much success as the Aces have enjoyed over the years, there are bound to be changes because other teams want a taste of that success they’ve experienced.
