Team USA Basketball Wins The Gold Medal

It is now five straight Olympic golds for the USA after a tough 98-87 victory over the resilient and host nation of France who was fighting in front of their home fans on Saturday in Paris, France. Team USA was a 16.5-point favorite over France according to BetMGM Sportsbook.

First time USA Olympian Steph Curry made sure that he wasn’t coming back to the US without the gold with his signature clutch shooting. Curry made four uber clutch 3-pointers in a two-minute second stretch of the fourth quarter to turn away a French uprising. Curry assured his first gold with a ridiculous fall away bomb over two defenders after a behind-the-back dribble, silencing the home fans with his “put them to sleep” trademark move.

“Before every shot you take, you think it’s going in,” Curry said. “All I saw was the rim. I didn’t see who was in front of me. I knew it was kind of a late clock situation, but that one impressed myself.”

Watching team USA play it was clear that the best player on the team was the oldest player on the team. LeBron James played at a very high level, he looked like 2020 LeBron. Making plays on both sides of the basketball at the right time just made everyone realize that King James still has it. Without a doubt he was the surprise of the tournament as he was named the Olympic MVP.

“I’m just living in the moment super humble that I can still play this game and play it at a high level,” James said. “It came with us winning gold and that’s what’s more important for me. It’s pretty cool.”
