Raiders Add Quarterback Gardner Minshew

Raiders Minshew

The Las Vegas Raiders have signed quarterback Gardner Minshew to a two-year deal with $25 million, with $15 million guaranteed.

Minshew is coming off a Pro Bowl season with the Colts. He replaced injured rookie starter Anthony Richardson early in the season and led the Colts to a 7-6 record in 13 starts. Minshew completed 62.2% of his passes for 3,305 yards with 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

Minshew is expected to compete with Aiden O’Connell for the starting quarterback job.

O’Connell played well for the Raiders, posting a 5-5 record as a starter and helping the Raiders remain competitive every week amid a tumultuous 2023 campaign. He finished with a 12-7 TD-INT ratio, completed 62.1 percent of his passes for 2,218 yards, and posted a respectable 83.9 passer rating in his first season, opening the door for a chance to earn the job again entering 2024.

The Raiders still might draft a quarterback in the NFL Draft.
