The possibility of Stefon Diggs joining Las Vegas has been a frequent topic among Raiders fans, especially given his recent performance in the NFL. The team’s connection to nfl conversations continues to generate excitement. The Athletic beat writer Sam Warren addressed the speculation on Wednesday, providing clarity on the matter.
In his first Raiders mailbag, Warren received several questions about Diggs and responded consistently to each, underscoring the growing interest in everything connected to Las Vegas and the nfl.
“My short answer: I don’t think so,” Warren wrote regarding the Diggs-to-Las Vegas question.
Warren began by discussing the receiver group. Indeed, the conversation shifted to how the group might develop in Las Vegas, as he reported that the Raiders front office is more confident in this unit than public perception indicates, attributing limited production to lack of opportunity rather than lack of talent.
Jalen Nailor, previously behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison in Minnesota, is considered a talented player who lacked opportunity. Tre Tucker will begin his first season without an established No. 1 receiver ahead of him. For Las Vegas fans, Bech and Thornton are also awaiting their first significant playing time after limited rookie appearances. As is common in the nfl, younger players often emerge as key contributors over time.
Warren also addressed team fit. Although Diggs remains productive at 33, Warren noted that teams where a Diggs signing made sense, such as New England last offseason, had immediate playoff aspirations, unlike Las Vegas at present.
Considering the team’s schedule and current stage of rebuilding, Las Vegas is not positioned as a near-term contender. Warren described a potential Diggs signing as “the type of luxury move made by teams believing they’re one piece away, rather than a team laying the groundwork like the Raiders.”
Warren acknowledged that GM John Spytek “has shown he’s not timid to make moves.” However, he concluded that a Diggs signing for Las Vegas remains unlikely as training camp approaches. Overall, coverage of the Raiders in the nfl will continue to be closely followed by fans.
