UNLV basketball coach Josh Pastner has received new player commitments through the transfer portal. This basketball team continues to grow with each new addition.

Dontrez Williams, a starting guard at Lindenwood, and Jeremy Foumena, a reserve center at Central Florida last season, have both committed to join UNLV’s basketball roster.

Both players announced their decisions on Instagram and X on Sunday. It was exciting news for basketball fans.

Williams, who stands 6 feet 5 inches, was Lindenwood’s third-leading scorer with 15.2 points per game and ranked eighth nationally with 2.59 steals per game.

He returned to Missouri for his sophomore season, earning all-Ohio Valley Conference second team and all-newcomer team honors. As a freshman at Abilene Christian, he was named to the all-WAC freshman basketball team.

Foumena, who is 6 feet 11 inches and from Montreal, averaged 3.5 points and 2.3 rebounds in 9.5 minutes per game last season.

He shot 54.8 percent from the field and 50 percent from the free-throw line. However, he missed part of the season due to an ankle injury. He recorded a career-high 18 points and seven rebounds in UCF’s win over Quinnipiac. Furthermore, UNLV will be Foumena’s fourth school. He previously played at Rhode Island and Mississippi State.

He spent two seasons at Rhode Island, redshirting in 2022-23, and appeared in nine games for Mississippi State as a redshirt sophomore.

Pastner has now brought in six players from the transfer portal, including Terrance Ford Jr. (Tulsa), Tyler Harris (Vanderbilt), Cam Miles (Florida State), and MJ Thomas (New Orleans). Also returning are rising sophomores in forward Tyrin Jones and guard Issac Williamson.
