Today is Saturday, May 2, and seven days remain until the Las Vegas Aces open the 2026 season. At Dice City Sports, we are counting down to opening tip as the defending champs chase a fourth championship in five years while we rank the top 14 players in franchise history.
Chelsea Gray
Gray, the Point Gawd, checks in at No. 7 after becoming the engine of the Aces’ championship backcourt. Across five seasons with Las Vegas, she averaged 12.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 6.0 assists in 178 games.
Her Aces peak came during the franchise’s title run. Gray was the 2022 Finals MVP and helped Las Vegas win championships in 2022 and 2023. She also earned All-Star honors with the Aces in 2021, 2023 and 2024, and made the All-WNBA second team in 2023 after averaging 15.3 points and 7.3 assists.
Why she ranks here
Gray ranks this high because she gave Las Vegas elite playmaking, late-game shot creation and championship leadership. Her Finals MVP, All-WNBA season and central role on title teams make her one of the franchise’s defining guards.
Background
Gray was born Oct. 8, 1992, in Hayward, Calif. She played at Duke and attended St. Mary’s High School in Stockton, Calif. The Connecticut Sun selected her with the No. 11 overall pick in the 2014 WNBA Draft, and she signed with Las Vegas on Feb. 2, 2021.
Career check
In 369 WNBA games, Gray averaged 11.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists while shooting 45.9% from the field, 38.0% from 3-point range and 86.7% from the free-throw line. She is a six-time All-Star, four-time WNBA champion, three-time All-WNBA selection, 2022 Finals MVP and 2022 Commissioner’s Cup MVP.
Next up tomorrow: No. 6.
