Tyreek Hill trade rumors back on for Raiders

No matter what the Las Vegas Raiders did in Week One, it would have been hard to bottom out more than the Miami Dolphins did.

Losing 33-8 to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, the Dolphins have shown just how far they have fallen since making the playoffs two years ago. While they had some question marks surrounding their roster this season, those have now turned into serious concerns with the threat of turning the Dolphins into a bottom-five team. As the game was quickly getting out of reach, fans noticed wide receiver Tyreek Hill having a moment of frustration on the bench.

Hill had been the subject of trade rumors earlier this offseason, and this moment has kickstarted those back up again.

The Raiders are a team being linked to Hill once again.

According to Pro Football Network’s Cameron Sheath, the Raiders are a sensible landing spot if Hill wants out of Miami amidst what appears to be a tough season ahead.

“Wide receiver Jakobi Meyers has publicly expressed his desire to be traded away from the team, making him a potential bargaining chip in a trade for Hill. If [head coach Pete] Carroll is serious about winning now with the Raiders, Hill could be a no-brainer after Amari Cooper’s retirement,” wrote Sheath.

It is unlikely that the Raiders would deal Meyers in a Hill trade, but the sentiment remains the same.

While Hill is still a high-level playmaker, there are some red flags that could make the Raiders look elsewhere. Even with Meyers and Brock Bowers dominating, the Raiders still got positive production from the likes of Tre Tucker, Jack Bech and Dont’e Thornton Jr. Even if Hill makes sense from an on-field perspective, his current allegations of domestic violence will have teams thinking twice about adding him.

The Raiders are probably not going to be the team that gets Hill, but it is still worth keeping in mind as the season rolls along.
