On September 10, 2025, America was shaken by one of the most shocking events in recent history.

That day, conservative political commentator Charlie Kirk was assassinated at Utah Valley University in Orem. He was participating in a speaking engagement on campus when he was struck in the neck by a single bullet. Kirk was 31 years old and is survived by his wife Erika and two children.

The sports world has reacted to the news, as have many other spheres, and the Las Vegas Raiders were represented in the outpouring of support.

The wife of a Las Vegas Raiders player has shared her thoughts on the matter.

Devon Mostert, the wife of Raiders running back Raheem Mostert, took to Instagram to share photos of Kirk and his family on her story, as well as react to the senseless act.

“My heart HURTS for them. For America,” Mostert captioned on one of the posts.

Mostert is far from the only figure in the sports world to share their reactions to the matter.

Many athletes have gone on to social media to denounce the action, as well as reactions demonizing Kirk. Former Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown, former Washington Redskins quarterback and ESPN analyst Robert Griffin III, and boxers Jake Paul and Ryan Garcia were among those who reacted to the news. The New York Yankees also held a moment of silence for Kirk prior to their game against the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday, as did the Green Bay Packers on Thursday before they played the Washington Commanders.

Mostert and the rest of the sports world can only hope that things can get better as the nation reels from another act of violence.
