Jackie Young hits milestone as the Aces stun the Sparks

On Tuesday, the Las Vegas Aces (13-13) took on the Los Angeles Sparks (11-14) at the Crypto.com arena in Los Angeles.

Cameron Brink made her return for the Los Angeles Sparks after being out due to injury. Kierstan Bell got the start for the Aces with Jewell Loyd coming off the bench for the second straight game.

In the first half, Las Vegas got off to a quick start with a 12-3 lead with under 7 minutes in the first quarter.

A’ja Wilson did it all on the court from steals, to assists, and rebounding. Wilson was perfect from the floor at the 3:08 mark in the first quarter. At the close of the first quarter, the Aces had a sizeable 31-18 lead over the Sparks.

To close out the half, A’ja Wilson showed no signs of slowing down. She had 23 points and was 11-for-13 shooting from the floor as the Aces led 48-34.

As the second half began, the Aces picked up right where they left off, forcing the Sparks to the ball over back-to-back times in the early minutes of the third quarter.

At the 4:02 mark, the Aces lead by as many as 14. Dana Evans made a crucial three-point play to close out the third quarter, giving the Aces a 70-53 lead.

In the fourth quarter, Jackie Young took charge and attained her first triple double of her career. A’ja Wilson added another double double for the season.

Young closed out the game putting up 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists.

In the post-game presser, Jackie Young elaborated on her milestone, “It feels good. shout out to my teammates, they told me I was getting close and the Becky told me what I needed. Today was a good win for us.”

“I would be able to do this without my teammates,” Young continued.

The Aces are now 14-13 with an 89-74 win over the Sparks. They head home to matchup with Minnesota on Saturday, July 2.
