The struggling Connecticut Sun, currently at the bottom of the standings, have dropped eight consecutive games. Their challenges continue tonight as they head to Minneapolis to take on the top-ranked Minnesota Lynx.

The Lynx and Sun are having vastly different seasons. Minnesota leads the WNBA with a 13-2 record and the best net rating, while Connecticut struggles at 2-14 and is at the bottom of the standings.

The Sun has been particularly poor lately, going 0-3 without Marina Mabrey (leg), suffering an average loss of 22.0 points and a net rating of -28.0. For comparison, the Liberty has the second-worst net rating at -9.1 over the same stretch.

In their earlier matchup this season, Mabrey scored 22 points in the Sun’s 76-70 loss to the Lynx. She will be sidelined for their upcoming game in Minnesota, where the Lynx are undefeated at home (7-0).

Napheesa Collier is having a standout season for Minnesota, averaging a career-high 24.5 points per game, 8.4 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.5 blocks.

Her leadership has propelled the Lynx to the top of the league in defensive rating and third in offensive rating. Going into Sunday’s game against the Sun, Minnesota has won four of its last five matches.

The Lynx are undefeated at home this season, boasting a 7-0 record. Their last four home victories have been by at least 14 points.

In contrast, the Sun have struggled on the road, posting a league-worst 1-8 record. With Mabrey out, the Sun are at a significant disadvantage, making it likely that Minnesota will secure an easy win when these teams meet.

While a bet on the Lynx at -20 is reasonable, taking the under on the game’s 154.5-point total may be the smarter choice.

Without Mabrey, Connecticut averages only 67.7 points per game and will likely face serious challenges against the Lynx’s top-ranked defense.

Take the Under in this one.

Best Bet: Under 154.5 points at -110 odds
