Jake Paul is once again looking to make easy money in the boxing ring by fighting Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Chavez Jr was very popular due to him being the son of the legendary Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. Chavez Jr was able to find some success in the ring. He was able to go on and win the WBC middleweight championship against Sebastian Zbik. He would go on to defend his belt three times before losing to Sergio Garcia.
After the Garcia fight, Chavez Jr would never regain the title again. He would move up in weight to bigger weight classes and would not find the same success since he was no longer the bigger man in the ring. Chavez Jr has become a forgotten fighter and by that, he qualifies as another boxer to get on Jake Paul’s hitlist.
Circus Avoided
But luckily for everyone that lands on Jake Paul’s hitlist, it comes with a very nice pay day. So even in defeat, his opponents bank accounts are victorious. But the biggest victors are boxing fans overall. Boxing fans did not get baited into a fight between Canelo Alvarez vs Jake Paul. We almost were subjected to that circus until Canelo side stepped on Paul and focused his efforts on a real boxer in Terance Crawford.
Canelo chimed in on Chavez Jr chances against Paul in an interview with Fight Hub TV.
“Julio should win, with good preparation and focus he should come out on top,” said Canelo, emphasizing both support and a condition. He called it a crucial opportunity for Chavez Jr to turn the page and backed him with cautious optimism: “ I fully trust that he’ll secure that victory, I wish him all the best.”
Canelo has more confidence in Chavez Jr then Chavez Jr has in himself. Expecting Chavez Jr to be fully prepared and in good shape is like expecting Santa Clause to tell kids that he’s not real. Fully expect Chavez Jr to be another victim to Jake Paul’s hitlist.
