- What: NHL Western Conference Final Game 3
- When: May 25, 2025
- Who: Dallas Stars vs. Edmonton Oilers
- Time: 12:00 p.m. PST
- Where: Rogers Place (Edmonton, AB)
The Dallas Stars will play the Edmonton Oilers in Game 3 of their best-of-seven Western Conference Final NHL Playoff series this Sunday at Rogers Place in Edmonton. The puck will drop at 12 p.m. PST.
The series is tied at 1-1. The Stars began strong, winning the first game 6-3 at home, but relinquished their home-ice advantage after a 3-0 defeat to the Oilers on Friday.
In that game, Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner rebounded with a stellar performance, making 25 saves for his third postseason shutout after allowing five goals the previous game.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins continued to shine, netting a power-play goal for the second consecutive match, while Brett Kulak scored his first goal in 36 games since February 27.
The matchup features Jake Oettinger (9-6, 2.54 GAA, .915 SV%) against Stuart Skinner (3-4, 2.90 GAA, .890 SV%, 3 SO). Oettinger faced some tough luck in Game 2, allowing three goals in three of his last four starts.
His team’s lack of scoring support contributed to the loss, as allowing even a single goal would have sealed his fate in that game. Throughout the postseason, he has conceded at least three goals in eight of his 15 starts.
Skinner, meanwhile, has matched his regular-season total with three shutouts in seven playoff appearances. His performances have been streaky—recording three shutouts in four starts but allowing four or more goals in the other four games.
Aside from their high-scoring 6-goal victory in Game 1, the Stars have only mustered two goals in three of their last four games and have been shut out in consecutive road games.
They have limited opponents to three or fewer goals in seven outings throughout their last nine games.
On the other hand, the Oilers have been consistent defensively, scoring three or fewer goals in their last five games while allowing two or fewer in five of their last nine.
Additionally, the Under has cashed in six of their last nine games.
Best Bet: Under 6.5 goals at -120 odds
