The fourth-seeded Denver Nuggets will face the fifth-seeded LA Clippers in Game 6 of their Western Conference best-of-7 first-round series in the NBA Playoffs on Thursday at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood.
The Nuggets currently lead the series 3-2, with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m. PST.
During the regular season, the teams split their matchups 2-2. After trailing 2-1 in the series, Denver has bounced back with two consecutive victories, including a 131-115 win over LA on Tuesday, where they covered as 2-point home underdogs.
Guard Jamal Murray was instrumental, scoring a game-high 43 points and sinking 8 of 14 three-pointers.
Meanwhile, center Nikola Jokic contributed a triple-double with 13 points, 12 assists, and 10 rebounds, marking his 21st playoff triple-double.
On the other hand, the Clippers have now lost two straight games for the first time since early March.
In Game 5, center Ivica Zubac led LA with 27 points, while forward Kawhi Leonard added 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 9 assists, although the Clippers never held the lead in that matchup.
Interestingly, three of the five games in this series have been decided by three points or fewer, and the Nuggets have secured victories in their last two games, both as underdogs.
It feels like the Nuggets have the Clippers figured out. The last two wins feel like they’ve broken the Clippers competitive spirit.
I’m taking the Nuggets to upset the Clippers on the road in this one and advance to the next round to play the Thunder.
