The fifth-seeded LA Clippers will play the fourth-seeded Denver Nuggets in Game 5 of their first-round Western Conference playoff series.
In a surprising turn, the Nuggets edged out the Clippers 101-99 in Game 4 on Saturday. The Nuggets covered as 6.5-point underdogs and brought in the Under (211.5).
Forward Aaron Gordon clinched the victory for Denver with a dramatic buzzer-beating dunk. It marked the first game-winning, buzzer-beating dunk in NBA playoff history.
This moment was set in motion by a missed turnaround three-pointer from center Nikola Jokic, who nevertheless delivered an impressive performance. Jokic had 36 points, 21 rebounds, both of which were game highs, and 8 assists.
The Clippers faced their second close loss of the series on Saturday. They lost the opener 112-110 in overtime on April 19.
In the Game 4 defeat, forward Kawhi Leonard led the team with 24 points. Guard Norman Powell contributed 22 points, hitting 4-of-8 from three-point range.
LA has covered the spread in three out of the four games in this series, with the under cashing in all four. With LA favored at -135, they are expected to rebound after the heartbreaking loss in Game 4.
The Clippers are viewed as the stronger team and are favored in Denver for the first time in this series, after being underdogs in Games 1 and 2 by 3 and 1 points, respectively.
