The MLB action heats up on Friday, April 4th, featuring a three-game series between the Athletics and Rockies.

The Athletics come into the game with a 2-5 overall record, including a 2-2 mark on the road, and they’ll be starting right-handed pitcher Osvaldo Bido.

On the other side, the Rockies, having a 1-5 record and playing their home opener, will send RHP Ryan Feltner to the mound.

The Athletics had a rough start to their first home series at Sutter Health Park, getting swept by the Chicago Cubs, including a 10-2 loss on Wednesday.

Brent Rooker provided a highlight with a two-run homer, and Jacob Wilson contributed three of the team’s five hits.

After winning two of their first three games, the Athletics are looking to turn things around as they head into a road matchup against the Colorado Rockies.

Rooker stands out with a .267 batting average, while Tyler Soderstrom has impressed at .296. However, JJ Bleday struggles with a .192 average.

Osvaldo Bido will start on the mound with a solid 1.80 ERA. The team is also facing injuries, with Ken Waldichuk and Brady Basso currently on the injured list. The Athletics are eager to regain momentum in their upcoming series.

The Colorado Rockies were swept in their three-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies, losing 3-1 on Thursday. Starter Antonio Senzatela allowed 10 hits but just one run over 5 1/3 innings.

Colorado’s only run came from a pinch-hit single by Evan Bouchard in the ninth. A crucial dropped fly ball by Mickey Moniak in the fifth led to the Phillies breaking the scoreless tie, while the Rockies’ offense struggled throughout the series.

The Rockies are off to a rough start in the 2025 season, losing four straight games. Key players like center fielder Brenton Doyle (.240 avg, 1 RBI), shortstop Ezequiel Tovar (.125 avg, 1 RBI), and third baseman Ryan McMahon (.217 avg, 0 RBIs) have led the team so far.

As Colorado kicks off their home schedule—often unpredictable—and with a favorable pitching matchup for the Athletics, it’s a great time to bet on the high scoring showdown in this one.
