The Golden Knights host the Utah Hockey Club at T-Mobile Arena on Saturday night. The Knights will look to get back into the win column after falling to the Los Angeles Kings, while the Utah Hockey Club just ended their four-game losing streak after defeating the Calgary Flames.

Utah Hockey Club

The Utah Hockey Club enters the game with a record of 5-4-2.

Leading Utah’s first line is the trio of right wingers Clayton Keller, center Barrett Hayton, and center Nick Schmaltz. Keller topped the team last season with 33 goals and 43 assists for a total of 76 points, and he’s already notched six goals and five assists this year.

Hayton had a quieter season with three goals and seven assists in just 33 games for the Arizona Coyotes last year, but he’s made more of an impact this season with five goals and two assists.

Schmaltz also had a solid performance, finishing second on the team with 61 points from 22 goals and 39 assists last year; he has collected 11 assists this year.

Right winger Dylan Guenther and center Logan Cooley are leading the way on the second line. Guenther recorded 18 goals and 17 assists in 45 games last season and has already added six goals and four assists this year.

Cooley contributed 20 goals and 24 assists last year and has one goal and seven assists so far this season. Additionally, defenseman Mikhail Sergachev is contributing from the blue line with two goals and seven assists.

In goal for Utah, Connor Ingram is anticipated to return. He has a record of 4-2-2 with a 3.54 goals-against average and an .880 save percentage.

Ingram has shown inconsistency this season; he performed well last game, stopping 30 of 31 shots in a win against the Flames, but he allowed 12 goals in the three games prior.

Golden Knights

Center Jack Eichel will lead the Golden Knights’ top line with center Ivan Barbashev and right winger Mark Stone. Eichel, who ranked second in team points last season with 31 goals and 37 assists, has already netted three goals and 13 assists this year.

Stone, off to a strong start with five goals and 14 assists, was fourth in team points last year despite limited games. Barbashev has also been productive, contributing seven goals and five assists early in the season.

Defenseman Alex Pietrangelo has been reliable on the blue line this season, posting a goal and 11 assists to sit third in team points. Fellow defenseman Shea Theodore has added a goal and eight assists, contributing solidly from the back end.

Center Tomas Hertl has also been effective, with four goals and seven assists overall, including three goals and three assists on the power play, showcasing his impact in special teams situations.

Adin Hill is set to start in goal for the Golden Knights, entering with a 4-2-0 record, a 3.20 goals-against average, and a .878 save percentage.

His last game was a standout performance, where he stopped all 16 shots for a shutout win against the Calgary Flames. Notably, this marked his first game of the season with fewer than three goals allowed and his first save percentage above .900.

Utah-Knights Best Bet

The Utah Hockey Club enters this matchup as the underdog. They only score an average of 3.09 goals per game and face defensive struggles, allowing 3.46 goals per game (24th in the NHL).

On the other hand, the Golden Knights have been strong offensively, averaging 4.55 goals per game. Defensively, Vegas has allowed 3.09 goals per game.

The Knights are a much better team than this Utah squad. BetMGM has the Knights favored on the moneyline at -165, which makes sense. However, I will target the total since the odds are more favorable.

The total goals in this one is 6.5 goals, with the over at +100 odds. Over 6.5 goals is the best bet in this one.
