Aces Fever
A’ja Wilson, who struggled the previous game, got off to a solid start this time, going 3-5 from the field and scoring 6 points in the opening quarter. Caitlin Clark, on the other hand, continued to struggle, starting the game 0-3 from the field and missing two free throws while picking up a technical foul. The Aces would lead 19-13 after the first quarter.
The Aces increased their lead to 9 points and seemed to be pulling away, but Kelsey Mitchell would get hot in the second quarter to keep the Fever in the game. Mitchell went 5-8 from the field and 3-5 from three in the quarter, scoring 13 of her 19 points.
At halftime, the Aces led 41-35, with A’ja Wilson contributing 10 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 1 steal. The Aces backcourt had a strong half, with Kelsey Plum, Jackie Young, and Chelsea Gray accounting for 23 of the team’s 41 points.
The Aces started the third quarter on fire, increasing their lead to 13, but then they went cold. The Aces would be up 56-44 before going scoreless for 3 minutes, enabling the Fever to rally. Caitlin Clark eventually got her shots to fall, going 6-9 in the quarter and scoring 14 points.
Indiana would trail by only three points, 60-57, after three quarters of play. In the third quarter, A’ja Wilson only attempted two shots and went 0-2 from the field, while Chelsea Gray went 3-3 and scored eight points.
In the fourth quarter, both teams defensive effort increased, with the Aces leading by single digits throughout. The Fever trimmed the lead to three 75-72 with 42 seconds left, but Aliyah Boston missed a corner three, and the Aces made free throws late to seal the victory.
Four Aces scored in double digits, led by Chelsea Gray, who had 21 points, 6 assist and 2 rebounds. Gray was very efficient, going 7-11 from the field and delivering another highlight reel pass.

Kelsey Plum ended with 18 points and three assists, making four three-pointers. A’ja Wilson finished with 15 points, 17 rebounds and 2 blocked shots.
Jackie Young was the fourth member of the Aces in double figures finishing with 12 points and 6 assist.
Kelsey Mitchell lead the Fever with 20 points, going 8-16 from the field and 3-7 from three. Caitlin Clark ended with 18 points going 7-18 from the field to go along with 9 assist and 8 rebounds.
These Aces will return home Sunday for a matchup with the Connecticut Sun with tip-off at 3:00 p.m. and the game aired live by CBS Sports Network.
