The Las Vegas Aces have been in complete control against the Indiana Fever and seek a season series sweep when the two teams face each other on Friday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Las Vegas Aces

Wednesday’s victory was a significant achievement for the Aces, marking their 14th consecutive win against the Fever.

The Aces secured the win against the Fever, limiting Rookie of the Year favorite Caitlin Clark to just 6-of-22 shooting from the field. Clark struggled from the perimeter, shooting 1-10 from 3-point territory.

The Aces pick up Clark at center court and never give an inch. Aces guards Chelsea Gray and Jackie Young are exceptional one-on-one defenders, denying the Fever guard a clean look from anywhere on the court.

Even on the rare occasions when they do, the Vegas switch defense surprises her with an unexpected hand or two, disrupting her shot.

This win was their third against the Fever of the season and a remarkable demonstration of their dominance over Indiana. The last time the Fever emerged victorious against the Aces was on August 27, during the 2019 season, with a score of 86-71.

Vegas maintains the lead in the all-time series with a record of 32-21 against the Fever.

Indiana Fever

With only three games left in the season, the Indiana Fever won’t be able to surpass the Seattle Storm and secure the No. 5 spot. On the other hand, despite the challenges, the Fever only hold a 1.5-game lead over Phoenix.

Despite this, a victory in the upcoming game could provide a significant confidence boost for the Fever heading into the postseason, especially since it would be a win against the defending champions.

However, the team’s chances of upsetting the Aces will greatly depend on their ability to contain A’ja Wilson, who has been averaging 28 points and 12 rebounds per game against Indiana this season.

Aces-Fever Best Bet

Despite being the top-ranked offensive team since the Olympic break, Indiana only scored 75 points. Both of these teams just played a couple of nights ago and I don’t know how much will change strategy wise for either team.

Similar to a few nights ago, I don’t understand why the total is at 178 points. It is another one that feels high for this matchup, I’m expecting the Aces to lock down the Fever again and win another low scoring game.

I’d take Under 178 as the best bet in this game, with another Aces victory on the horizon.
