The Detroit Tigers will face off against the Oakland Athletics in the second game of their MLB series at the Oakland Coliseum.
Last night, Oakland ended their losing streak by winning a marathon 13-inning game against the Detroit Tigers. The A’s emerged victorious in the end.
Detroit Tigers
The Tigers’ offense ranks 21st in runs scored, 26th in batting average, 28th in on-base percentage, and 22nd in slugging in the majors.
Riley Greene has been the standout performer, hitting .255 in the last week with a .350 on-base percentage, 20 home runs, 58 RBIs, and 68 runs scored.
Colt Keith has also been consistent, maintaining a .259 average and a .311 on-base percentage, with 12 home runs, 53 RBIs, and 49 runs scored. Matt Vierling has also contributed, hitting .259 with a .304 on-base percentage, 16 home runs, 51 RBIs, and 69 runs scored this year.

Over the past week, Parker Meadows has been the top performer, hitting .227 with a .261 on-base percentage. He has contributed a home run, four RBIs, and two runs scored.
Kerry Carpenter has been driving in runs despite a lower batting average, hitting just .200 with a .333 on-base percentage. He has a home run, four RBIs, and two runs scored in the last week.
Lastly, Trey Sweeney’s batting average has been .214 in the last week but has been productive in driving in runs, with a home run, four RBIs, a stolen base, and a run scored.
As a team, the Tigers are hitting just .199 in the last week, with six home runs and 20 runs scored across six games.
Oakland Athletics
The Athletics are not performing well offensively this season. They rank 25th in the majors in runs scored, batting average, and on-base percentage.
They are 14th in slugging. However, Brent Rooker has been a standout player for the team, hitting .298 with 35 home runs, 97 RBIs, eight stolen bases, and 73 runs scored this year.
Shea Langeliers has also contributed with 25 home runs, 68 RBIs, and 50 runs scored despite a lower batting average of .221 and a .284 on-base percentage.

JJ Bleday has added 20 home runs, 55 RBIs, and 69 runs scored with a .247 batting average and a .327 on-base percentage.
However, several players have been hitting well for the Athletics in the last week. Brent Rooker has been outstanding, hitting .483 with four home runs, nine RBIs, a stolen base, and seven runs scored.
Shea Langeliers has contributed with a .231 batting average, three home runs, six RBIs, and four runs scored.
Seth Brown and Lawrence Butler have also been hot at the plate, hitting .417 and .379, respectively, and contributing to the team’s .249 batting average in the last week, along with 11 home runs and 30 runs scored in seven games.
Tigers-A’s Best Bet
Brant Hurter has performed well in his two recent starts, pitching ten innings and only allowing three runs while winning both games.
Meanwhile, the Oakland Athletics have been in good form, scoring over four runs per game in the last week and creating a total of 31.4 runs.
On the other hand, the Detroit Tigers’ offense has struggled, scoring only 16 runs in the last week with a runs-created total of 13.3.
Despite their overall season struggles, the Athletics have been solid lately, going 7-7 in their last 14 games.
Given the Tigers ‘ recent offensive struggles, I’m picking the Athletics on the moneyline.
Will the A’s close out their series against the Mariners with a win?
